Abstract

This study contributes to our understanding of the mediating and moderating processes through which paternalistic leadership (PL) is linked with organizational behavioral outcomes. A moderated mediation model was developed linking PL to employee performance (EP), affective commitment (AC), and psychological ownership (PO). Drawing on social exchange theory, the model posits that the effect of PL on EP is mediated by AC. Moreover, it is suggested that the relationship between AC and EP is moderated by PO. Data from 288 employees working in four and five-star hotels in Alanya support this model.
