Generation Z has grown up in the digital age, leading to different learning styles compared to previous generations. Therefore, traditional methods may not be sufficient to capture their attention. This study aimed to examine the effect of reinforcement using Gimkit in nursing education on students’ academic success and motivation. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a control group. The study was conducted in May 2022 with 109 first-year nursing students at a public university in Turkey, and the participants were divided into experimental and control groups. Both received the same theoretical instruction on “individual hygiene practices.” The experimental group used Gimkit for reinforcement; the control group used a traditional Q&A method with the same questions. Achievement tests and the Instructional Materials Motivation Survey (IMMS) were applied before and after the lecture, and the test was re-administered a week later. The experimental group scored significantly higher than the control group on achievement tests (P=.031 and .001), but no significant difference was found in motivation scores (P=.704). Gimkit reinforcement improved academic success but not motivation.
