Settlements; It is established in suitable areas according to topographical, lithological, climatic, hydrological, soil and vegetation characteristics, economic activities and land use, and may have to replaced due to problems arising from these reasons. In this study, settlements that moved due to both physical and human factors in the province of Erzincan were determined, and various statistical information was obtained about the reasons for displacement and change parameters of these settlements. The province of Erzincan is frequently exposed to disasters such as earthquakes, landslides and floods, and for this reason, displacements are frequent. In addition, many relocations have taken place in recent years due to human and economic reasons. While preparing the study, the settlements within the borders of Erzincan province were determined and their past and present situations were compared. In this respect, all administrative borders such as provinces, districts, towns, municipalities, neighborhoods and villages within the study area have been examined. The vector data of the village borders prepared by the General Directorate of Mapping (HGM) were compared with the 1/25.000 scaled topographic maps prepared by the HGM, and these data were also combined with the administrative unit names in the Turkish Civil Administration Departments Inventory obtained from the Ministry of Interior. In addition, information about the reason and year of relocation was provided by communicating with the administrative management units of all identified settlements. With the ArcMap Pro software and field studies, the old and current settlement areas, the elevation steps, displacement directions, slope conditions and whether they are still used today have been determined, and these data have been digitized, and their surface areas have been calculated. As a result of all these, an inventory has emerged with information such as the reasons for the relocation of the settlements whose establishment route has changed, the new and old installation sites and their areas, the direction and distance of the relocation, the elevation step on which it was established before and after the relocation, and whether the old settlement continues to be used. It is thought that such a study may be beneficial in terms of determining the areas to be settled in the future and determining and solving the problems that may be encountered in site selection. In the province of Erzincan, which is the study area, there are a total of 8 districts, 6 towns, 15 municipalities, 524 villages, 159 neighborhoods and 397 affiliated settlement (temporary settlements). When the distribution of the relocated settlements is examined in terms of proportion, it has been determined that 85.4% (53) of the 62 relocated cases due to human or natural factors were displaced by natural causes. The remaining 9 settlements (14.6%) were relocated due to human reasons. If the distribution of 62 settlements in Erzincan province is considered according to the reason for the relocated; earthquake comes first with 32 settlements, which constitutes more than half of the relocated settlements. Landslide comes in second place with 14 settlements. In terms of the reason for relocated, the third place was taken by 3 settlements and relocated due to flood, dam construction and economic reasons. Apart from this, 2 settlements each have been relocated due to transportation and high groundwater level. Finally, avalanche, loose soil texture and mineral extraction activities come with 1 displacement each. In the study, while the settlements that were completely or partially abandoned after the relocated settlements were taken into account, the settlements that were completely abandoned and whose settlements disappeared were excluded from the study.
