Özet

The history of the ancient Turks and the Mamluks has its prehistory in both the East and the West. One of the first who paid attention to the warlike nomads were China, the Roman Empire and Persia. The Turkic army during the conflict with the Tang Dynasty after a brief diminution gradually increased. Having military traditions from the times of the Huns, this army became the basis for the formation, development and consolidation of powerful Turkic Kaganate. Turks not only strengthens their own state but also provided military support by rescuing the state from external wars Tang. During the confrontation with the Tang Dynasty ancient Turks were weak because of internal contradictions and that's why they were subordinated to the external enemy. At that time, parts of the nomadic Turkic nations created mercenary army and guards in the Tang Dynasty. Mercenaries from the Turks, Bulgarians and Savir participated in military actions of Persians and the Byzantines from both sides. In Arab countries, it was Ghulams and Mamluks. The history of formation of mercenary legions in the Middle East has a significant interest for the study in exploring one of the unknown pages of the history of Turkic nations.
