Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is expressed as a catastrophic crisis that has hit the sustainability of the airline industry worldwide. In this context, it is a matter of curiosity, how this crisis caused a change in the attractiveness and competitiveness level of the industry. Accordingly, the study aims to reveal how the attractiveness and competitiveness level of the Turkish airline industry has changed post-Covid-19. To do this, based on the framework of Porter's five force analysis, the study employs the Best Worst Method (BWM) and the competitiveness level scale. In this scope, the opinions of two experts were taken for the criteria and competitiveness scale. The results show that there has been a decrease in the threat of current competitors and the threat of potential competitors, in the post-Covid-19 era in the Turkish airline industry. Another remarkable result reveals that the competitiveness level of the Turkish airline industry has also decreased.
