İnsanın doğuştan getirdiği merak duygusu; hayatın idame edilmesi ve geliştirilebilmesi için gerekli olan bilgi-beceri donanımını sağlamada son derece etkili bir amildir. Geleceğe dair bilinmeyene merakın bir sonucu olarak ortaya çıkan seğirme ilmi, zamanla edebî tür niteliği kazanmıştır. Türk edebiyatında manzum veya mensur olarak kaleme alınan seğirname konulu eserlerde, insan bedenindeki istemsiz kas ve sinir hareketlerinin, gelecekte gerçekleşecek bir olayla ilişkilendirilmesi söz konusudur. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de ve yurt dışında çok sayıda örneği olan Türkçe seğirnamelerin İngiltere Kütüphanelerinden temin ettiğimiz dört yazma nüshası tanıtılarak mukayese edilecektir.
The sense of curiosity that is innate in the human being is an impelling element in providing the equipment of knowledge and skill necessary for continuing and improving the life. The science of twitch that arose as a result of the curiosity about the unknown regarding the future gained a qualification of literary genre in time. Relating the involuntary myoneural movements in the human body to an event that will happen in the future is in question in the works themed segirname that are written as a verse or prose in the Turkish literature. In this study, the copies of the four manuscripts, which we have obtained from the libraries in England, of the Turkish segirnames of which numerous examples are available in Turkiye and abroad will be introduced and compared
