Abstract
In this study, the work named Kitâb-ı Muʻâlecât, which was written by Ali
bin Osman in the 16th century, was promoted. The author of the work, Ali bin
Osman, wrote this work to evaluate his retirement days. In the Kitâb-ı
Muʻâlecât, which consists of 89 sections, there are medicinal compositions that
can be used in the treatment of diseases such as headache, toothache and
hemorrhoids. The treatment methods suggested by the author for the treatment of
the diseases mentioned in the work are generally based on medicines obtained
from plants. In addition, it is seen that the healing feature of some verses in
the Quran is also mentioned. It is also seen in the work that air science is
used for the solution of some problems. The only identifiable copy of the book titled
Kitâb-ı Muʻâlecât is registered in the Berlin State Library Eastern Manuscripts
Collection.
