Tarihsel süreç içerisinde Osmanlı Devleti kendine has bir diplomasi anlayışı geliştirmiştir. Günümüzde T.C. Cumhurbaşkanlığı Devlet Arşivleri Başkanlığı Osmanlı Arşiviꞌnde Bab-ı Âsafî fonunda Düvel-i Ecnebiyye Defterleri adı altında Osmanlı diplomasi tarihi ile ilgili birçok defter bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan 55/1 numaralı defter, Lehistanꞌa aittir. OsmanlıLehistan arasında XVII-XVIII. yüzyılda imzalanan birçok ahidnameyi içermekle birlikte erken tarihli defter olma özelliğine sahiptir. Ayrıca sadece ahidname kayıtlarını değil, şikâyetleri, yol izin hükümleri, içki alım izinleri, kilise keşif ve onarım izni ile Katolik kiliselerde ayin serbestliği, esir değişimi ve sınırlardaki Tatarlar’ın olumsuz faaliyetlerini engellemeye yönelik hükümleri de içermektedir. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı-Lehistan arasındaki siyasi ve diplomatik ilişkiler içeriğindeki ahidnameler üzerinden değerlendirilecektir.
The Ottoman State has developed a unique understanding of diplomacy in the historical context. There are several books preserved by the T.R. Presidency State Archives on the history of Ottoman diplomacy under the name of Düvel-i Ecnebiyye (Foreign States) Notebooks in the Bab-ı Asafi (Grand Vizier's Mansion) fund in the Ottoman Archives. The number 55/1 of these books is designated to Poland. It contains numerous ahidnames (treaties) signed between Ottoman and Poland in the XVII-XVIII. centuries, it also is an early dated notebook. Moreover, it includes complaints, road permit decrees, permits for alcohol purchases, and church exploration and repair, freedom for rituals in Catholic churches, exchange of prisoners, and provisions to prevent the negative activities of Tatars in the borders additional to the ahidname records. This study analyzes the political and diplomatic relations between the Ottoman Empire and Poland over the ahidnames in this context.
