Özet

Objective: This study aims to analyze research conducted between2014 and 2024 on the relationship between gender roles and religionin Turkey from an interdisciplinary perspective. Methodology: Thisstudy employs a qualitative systematic literature review. A search wasconducted in academic databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, andDergiPark using keywords like "gender," "religion," and "Turkey." Asa result, 249 studies were identified, and 33 studies published between2014 and 2024 were included in the review. Findings: The analysis ofselected studies shows that religion in Turkey plays a key role inlegitimizing and reinforcing gender norms, particularly shapingwomen's experiences in public and private spheres, while alsohighlighting themes of violence, control, subjectification, andresistance influenced by religious authorities, institutions, and groups.Conclusion: Gender roles and religion in Turkey both reinforceinequalities and shape women's subjectification.
